Planet Watch -- April 2015
Mercury is in superior conjunction on the 10th and will not be visible until later this month
when it moves out to the east side of the Sun becoming visible as an evening planet.
Venus is very visible shining brightly above the western horizon at sunset.
Mars stays visible in the evening skies but is low above the southwestern horizon at sunset. Watch for
a close conjunctione between Mars and Mercury on the 23rd.
Jupiter rises during the afternoon and is above the southwestern horizon at sunset.
Saturn rises around midnight local time and is above the reddish star Antares in Scorpius the Scorpion. Look for the two to be above the
south-southwestern horizon at sunrise.
